The B'DAT MINI DOC PROJECT
We are the Documentary Team from the B’DAT program at Beacon High School. We are creating a documentary about the history and influence of B’DAT over the years, and we are wondering if you as a BDAT family member would be willing to film yourself answering some interview questions to help us in our effort.
The finished project will be seen by Beacon students, parents, and families and on the B’DAT website. Some clips will be used on our social media as well as put into the archives. Throughout the production we want to be as transparent as possible, so if you'd like to see it before it is finalized, please contact us by December 14, and we will do our best to accommodate possible revisions.
Send your video to [email protected] by December 7th. Your answers in a written email would also be welcome, if filming is not possible; send them to the same address.
We have stated our questions in the attached video, but here they are in print form:

We have stated our questions in the attached video, but here they are in print form:
- How was the B’DAT community compared to other creative art spaces?
- What is something that B’DAT does that other art programs don't? What is something that B’DAT does that other art programs can’t?
- What does B’DAT mean to you?
- What was your favorite role or task onstage or on the crew?
- What skills did you learn in B’DAT that you still carry with you today?
Questions specifically for alumni:
- What was your usual order at the deli, or favorite snack in the snack cabinet?
- What is your favorite memory? Or, something that stood out to you over the course of the four years- or however long you were part of the B’DAT community?
- How did B’DAT support the art you made in high school, and how has that art impacted your life today?
- Do you have any regrets? Something bad or something good?
- What was tech week like for you?
- Why B’DAT? Why did you decide to walk into the office for the first time, or choose B’DAT to spend your time with instead of another arts program or club?
Questions specifically for teachers:
- How has seeing B’DAT productions changed the way you communicate with your students or changed the way you teach in your classrooms?
- What is it like seeing your students in the classroom vs. onstage?
We can't wait to hear your stories and memories. Thank you,
BDAT Mini Doc Team
