Carrie, The Musical is one of Broadway greatest comeback stories! From "the worst musical every produced!" to its MCC Off-Broadway reboot, Carrie is a cult favorite in every sense of the word.
A musical tragedy? A bloody prom. Only one character is left alive in the end. WHY PRODUCE THIS PLAY? Since its inception in the late 80's producers and audiences alike couldn't quite place Carrie. But given the present cultural shift and the desperate need to address bullying, violence in schools, and the essential question of "What does it cost to be kind?" we think Carrie might actually have finally found its place in the musical theatre canon. What better high school musical than one that forces us to look in the mirror and question why we do the things that we do? Well, that and the tech is pretty darn cool too.
