Theatre Arts is an ensemble class designed to accelerate student actors into serious scene study. This is a little tricky when you're working remotely. This semester 50 T1 students took a break from on your feet improv and scene work and  jumped ahead into more advanced script analysis. We did a deep dive into Wendy Wasserstein's Pulitzer Prize winning The Heidi Chronicles. Asynchronous learning meant more room for cross curricular study while working independently on a menu of engagements with the play. Students were invited to create 2 responses to the play from the following categories; Performance, Theatre Design, Directing and Playwriting. Playing with digital design as much as old fashioned watercolors and crayons gave students a chance to flex their creative decision making skills from the safety of home. Below you'll see a sampling of student work.

Time to create was the best unexpected gift of quarantine.
We asked theatre students, "what ELSE have you been creating while in working from home?"
Here are some of their responses!

Making Music in our Quarantine!

Cherie Pereira

Eva Duarte

Norleah Harrington

We also made and baked
ALL OF THE FOOD!

And grew things, and made things,
and painted things, and all the things!

Congrats on your gorgeous quarantine of creativity!
